City of Lakewood

The city of Lakewood offers both shelter services and a variety of family resources. This includes child care, after school care, and family counseling programs.  Further, they offer regular summer camps, teen camps and camps for those with special needs. They also operate shelters for those who are facing homelessness or need temporary housing.

Ralston House

Ralston House Child Advocacy Center works with law enforcement, human services and legal professionals  in the Jefferson, Adams, Gilpin and Broomfield counties. Their main priority is to provide a safe place to investigate child abuse cases. Additionally, They have medical clinics and provide housing. They also have multiple resources for family and victim services, some medical services and prevention training.

Theodora House

The Theodora House, run by Volunteers of America, provides shelter to homeless women without children. Residents receive counseling; help in obtaining their GED; assistance with job placement, help finding transitional housing.  Parenting and Budgeting classes are also provided.

Third Way Center

The Third Way Center provides care to high risk, mentally ill, disadvantaged and often homeless adolescents and their families. They have a variety of programs that range from residential child care to high school/GED completion guidance. In addition to those services, they provide substance abuse treatment and and vocational training programs.

Urban Peak

Urban Peak offers day and night shelter to to help support homeless youth  in their journeys toward self-sufficiency. With two locations in Denver and in Colorado Springs, they offer services including help with finding employment, education and housing. Additionally they offer case workers to mediate any urgent issues and medical professionals to provide care.

Sacred Heart House of Denver

Sacred Heart House Denver provides emergency shelter to women and children in the Denver area. They offer a multiple of programs specifically an In-House Stabilization Program which provides temporary housing, food, clothing, transportation and case management for homeless families with referrals for permanent/transitional housing, education/job training/placement, health care, child care, and counseling. Salvation Army

With various locations throughout the state of Colorado, the Salvation Army has lots to offer. From emergency services, food and clothing banks and rehabilitation programs. While this is a Christian organization, the wide variety of services is available to everyone.

Samaritan House

Samaritan House is a ministry operated by Catholic Charities. They strive to secure sufficient food and clothing, the ability to earn a living wage and affordable housing. They provide food and shelter to many men, women and children in the Downtown Denver area. Alternatively, at some locations they have women only housing. Please call to inquire.
