Servicios de La Raza’s mission is to build and cultivate a thriving Colorado Latino community in which all members have the opportunities, and the support systems to achieve equity, self-sufficiency, and self-determination to lead a healthy quality of life.
Founded in 1972 by community activists and activists in the Chicano/Chicana civil rights movement in Colorado to provide mental health services for the Spanish-speaking community, Servicios de La Raza embodies the phrase “for the people, by the people”. Since, our services have significantly expanded to fulfill the varying and evolving needs of Coloradans.
From the moment we opened our doors, every day has been spent in dedicated service of our mission to provide and advocate for culturally responsive, essential human services and opportunities to our community. What initially began in an effort to support the underserved Latinx community, has expanded to ALL communities, irrespective of age, race, gender, sexual-orientation, etc, with respect and dignity.
